Hello friend and welcome to the third edition of Pixel Poetry, a regular reminder to not take life too seriously. Thank you for stopping by for a dose of informal Krspeace. If you missed the first two editions you may peep them below:
If you are up-to-date then by all means, let us proceed! 😎
Akumik
For this piece I was inspired by the Inuit Eskimos. I wanted to put a modern spin on it and that is why I emphasized the lipstick. The white in her hair and the fur on her shoulders are a nod to their Arctic home.
The name Akumik is a gender-neutral word that means “go with the wind”.

Hinata Hyugi
I made this piece specifically for a Substack friend,
. We are both fans of anime and those of you who watch Naruto may already be familiar with the character Hinata Hyugi. In Japanese, Hinata is associated with the sunflower, regarded as a symbol of radiance and positivity. The name itself embodies the meaning “Facing The Sun”, suggesting a connection to warmth, growth, and the power of the sun's rays.

Lone Astronaut
I normally avoid dark colors/art and drift towards bright colors and plain white backgrounds. For this piece however, I had been going through some tough days and so I tried to express how I was feeling. Alone and stranded in a dark place.
I had some online friends who reached out to help me through the slump and I am truly grateful to them for reminding me to fire on the jetpacks.

The Mask
Speaking of bright colors, let’s get back to lighter notes! This one reminds me just how old I am. It’s fan art of Jim Carrey's 1994 iconic superhero (half hero?) movie character Stanley Ipkiss aka The Mask.
Jim Carrey truly had some major blockbusters that could make you laugh till you cry. I wonder how many of you have watched it so let me know in the comments because I’m truly curious if I’m that much of a relic. S-s-s-s-s-s-smokin’!

Spock
Star Trek fans know this one! My choice to immortalize Spock in art was inspired by our need for a beacon of wisdom in today’s chaotic universe. As a bridge between Vulcan logic and human emotion, Spock portrays the harmony of duality, teaching us to navigate life’s complexities with grace and intention.
He is committed to logic and reason reminding us all to seek clarity amid turmoil, grounding decisions in truth rather than fleeting impulses.

Pixel Cat
Pixel cat is a tribute to all those who just celebrated International Pet’s Day (April 11). I had an all black cat named “Rateng” which means “black” in my traditional mother tongue of Luo. Unfortunately, Rateng only lives in memory but I still have a pet mutt named Gaddaffi.

Snowy Owl
Because I give a hoot about nature! 😋

Morning Star
This one was a total mistake. I was trying to make Clark Kent with his heat vision but this resulting character looked too “evil” to be Clark. So, decided he would be Lucifer Morning Star. 😂
The reason I decided to include it in this series is because even mistakes can make something remarkable.
